Digestible Facts vs. Nutrition Facts

On each of our food labels we have two different labels; one is the Nutrition Facts label that you are all familiar with. And the other may be a new term called a Digestible Facts label. 
The Nutrition Facts label explains the nutrients that are contained in the food. Such as, grams and calories of fat, protein and carbohydrates. 
The only difference of the Digestible Facts label is the amount of fats, proteins and carbs that your body will actually absorb and be digested. 

Why 2 Labels? 

The FDA requires that since we do have fats and carbohydrates in our foods we have to inform you of how much is in the food you are eating, even though you won’t be digesting all of it. 
Which Number Do I Care About?
Basically, the bottom line is: The Nutrition Facts label informs you how many grams and calories are in our foods. And the Digestible Facts label informs you of the grams and calories that your body will actually absorb or digest.
If you are limiting the amount of calories or grams of fats or carbs that you are consuming daily, you can rely on the Digestible Facts label as the amount you should count, because the totals in this label is the amount your body will be digesting at the cellular level.
